Mission: We exist as a church that glorifies Christ by obeying the Great Commission in the greater Kaohsiung area.
Vision: We envision our church to expand our scope of outreach to the diverse communities within the city of Kaohsiung. Where they will have a place to call home, be nurtured with the Word of God, and empowered by the Spirit of God to serve and spurred on to move wherever God calls them.
The Wu Chang Conservative Baptist (CB) Church of Kaohsiung began in 1977 as a daughter church of the San Min CB Church. Led by a team of two couples, John and Kathy Branner from the Coservative Baptist Foreign Mission Society (now WorldVenture), and Rev. Huang Ming-ji and his wife from the San Min Church, the church began on Wu Chang Street iin Kaohsiung. After struggling for some months, the power of the Holy Spirit was evidenced in a miraculous healing, and the church began a steady road of growth. In the 1990s, the church adopted a cell group strategy, and received a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit as growth began to accelerate. Read more
When John and Elaine Kuo returned to Taiwan in 2011, they were uncertain as to exactly what Godhad in store for them. Pastor John Cheng of the Wu Chang church had invited them to join the staff, and as he and John talked, developed a shared vision for a multicultural congregation. Read more
Our goal at Wu Chang Bilingual Fellowship is to offer a church life in a multicultural setting. Our staff reflects this, as our pastors all have lived and ministered cross-culturally. We hope to make the Wu Chang Bilingual Fellowship a place where anyone can feel welcome and comfortable. Read more
